Answer is NO. DO NOT EXPECT THIS METAL DETECTOR TO WORK LIKE COMMERCIAL METAL DETECTORS. You could make Metal Detectors with complicated circuits to perfectly accomplish the job. But that is not point of this build, in fact the main point of the build is to familiarize with the basics of simple electronics.

  • 1. Most of the things in the video is covered in this instructable, but if you prefer watching videos over reading instruction then watch my video!.2. So here's the schematic and the breadboard diagram of the circuit. I hope it could be a great aid in making the circuit, because it is really di.3. Often times the circuit that we try to create ends up failing to work, so it is always recommended to create any circuit on a breadboard before.4. First take the breadboard. Place the IC Chip in the middle of the board as shown in the picture. Make sure the notch on the IC is facing the lef.5. Connect an 1 uF electrolytic capacitor to ground and pin 2 of the IC.Connect pin 1 of the IC to Ground using a jumper wire.Connect the + side of.6. Connect pin 4 of the IC to Positive Power rail using a jumper wire.Connect the 47K ohm resistor to pin 6 of the IC.Connect a jumper from Pin 3 o.7. So now we will be making the most important part of the circuit, the thing that will detect the metal. Take a cylindrical bottle of plastic with.8. Now attach the alligator clips from the wire to 47 K resistor and the + end of the 1 uF electrolytic capacitor.9. The circuit is done!! Take a 9 Volt battery and connect it to the battery clip. The circuit should create an annoyingly loud high pitched noise..10. To make the circuit permanent you will need the following things: 1) 555 Timer IC Chip. 2) 2 X 1 uF electrolytic capacitors. 3)1 X 10 uF electr.

Simple Metal Detector: The other day when I was searching instructables I come across on interesting and simple circuit for metal detector. It is build with 555, coil and few other components. Instructable that inspire me to do this project was this one. Main debate was:

  • 1. Parts: 555 47 kΩ resistor two 2μ2 F capacitor PCB 9 V battery, switch, battery cable and some wires buzzer 100 m of copper wire, 0.2. The idea is not mine. I found schematic on this page (there is also other 499 projects with 555). I only added switch beetwen battery and circui.3. The most difficult part is making coil. In great help was web calculators for air coils. With them, I calculated that with coil 90 mm width I ne.4. I made circuit on breadboard because I didn’t want when PCB would be finished it wouldn’t work. You can see test in video bellow.5. Test was a success. Because of that I made PCB. I made it the same way that I made PCB in this project.6. I wanted, that final product would look nice. Therefore I decided to make handle from cardboard. Handle holds battery, switch, circuit and coil..7. I made all components in previous steps. And now it’s time to put them all together. As first I glued in switch with hot glue, then I put in bat.8. I put finished metal detector to the test: This detector is really very simple one. But I must make a note that it is not meant for serious work.

Using Bat DetectorsBat Detector TypesFrequency DivisionTime ExpansionNon-Acoustic DetectionBat detectors are used to detect the presence of bats and also help form conclusions about their species. Some bat calls are distinct and easy to recognise such as the Horseshoe bats; other calls are less distinct between similar species. While bats can vary their calls as they fly and hunt, the ear can be trained to recognise species according to the frequency ranges and repetition rates of the echolocation calls. Bats also emit social calls (non-echolocation calls) at ultrasound frequencies. A major limitation of acoustic b
